How It Spreads

Be Cautious of Yourself and Others

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or also known as MRSA, is a very fatal disease which is created by bacteria that will cause infections in different parts of the body.  This disease is known as fatal since it is spread through skin-to-skin contact, a person with MRSA can spread the disease in very simple ways without knowing that they have this disease.  Some ways of spreading MRSA is the following:

  • Sharing items or equipment with the infected person (soccer ball, food, phone, etc.)

  • Touching or coming in contact with the person with the disease

  • Contact with an infected wound

This is a very serious disease since it spreads through contact.  A person with MRSA will usually have symptoms or some sort of indication that a person has a disease. MRSA bacteria can survive along amount of time on objects.
